On September 5^th, over 150 real estate attorneys and real estate agents from across Central Florida gathered at the Florida Hotel.  This day-long event addressed a wide range of topics including Probate, presented by Stephen Chong, Esq, Short Term & Vacation Rentals, presented by Nishad Khan, Esq., Seller’s Disclosure Statements, presented by Lew Oliver, Esq., and FREC Issues & Team Advertising, presented by Randy Schwartz, Esq., Commissioner with the Florida Real Estate Commission.  The Legal Summit offered Florida Bar CLE for attorneys, as well as 8 hours of Specialty CE credit for licensed real estate agents.

After a year of historic real estate activity fueled by a combination of demographics and the pandemic, the Florida real estate market appears to be taking a pause.  Add to that, a flurry of interest rate increases by the Federal Reserve, to get a handle on the highest inflation in 40 years, and you’ve got yourself a good old fashioned economic slowdown.  While you may not want to celebrate that, it does present some opportunities to focus on aspects of your practice that you may have been neglecting – like Marketing.

The Florida ARECS Board of Directors met on February 24th in Orlando and reviewed our strategic objectives and how the organization can best serve REC members going forward. Since its inception in 2014, Florida ARECS has focused on these strategic priorities:

On May 11th The Florida ARECS Board of Directors hosted its annual REC Leadership Forum preceding the start of Fund Assembly in Orlando.

On May 21st, drones ruled the skies over the rooftop terrace at the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors®

The Attorneys’ Real Estate Council of Miami-Dade County and the North Dade & Beaches Real Estate Council got the year off to a strong start with their annual joint meeting on January 23^rd.  The annual event gives attorneys from across one of our largest counties the opportunity to network.  Manuel Farach, Esq., with McGlinchey Stafford in Fort Lauderdale presented his Real Property Case Law Update and Impact on Your Practice.
