An interactive program where attendees are challenged to choose the proper underwriting response based on real-life fact scenarios. A panel of Fund Underwriters provides discussion and analysis of the underwriting decision in each scenario. Attendees will stay informed with the latest developments in The Fund’s underwriting guidelines.

Connie Clark

Connie Clark is a Senior Underwriting Counsel with The Fund. She discovered her love of real property law while sitting in classes taught by Professor Mandell Glicksberg at the University of Florida College of Law from which she graduated in 1985. It was Professor Glicksberg who suggested that she might seek employment with The Fund.
 
Since joining The Fund in 1988, Ms. Clark has held various positions including Claims Vice President and Risk Manager. She considers herself a utility player on the team having worked in all departments within The Fund’s Legal Division.
Jennifer Barrow

Underwriting Counsel

Jennifer Barrow is Underwriting Counsel in The Fund’s Broward Branch. Ms. Barrow graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Providence College. She then received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a member of the Center for Ethics and Public Service and won a grant for excellence.
 
Prior to employment with The Fund, Ms. Barrow was the managing attorney of a title company, a member of The Fund, and a partner at a firm focused on real estate litigation and transactions.
 
Ms. Barrow is admitted to practice in Florida and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
John Brown

Senior Underwriting Counsel, Commercial Services

John Brown is a Florida board certified attorney in real estate and a member of both the Florida and Kentucky Bars.  He earned his J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Prior to joining the Fund, Mr. Brown represented national retailers in purchase contract negotiations, leasing, site evaluation, engineering, permitting, land use, environmental evaluation and compliance, survey review and title.
 
Mr. Brown has represented private and public companies negotiating the terms of operational and construction financing and was involved with issuance of municipal bonds for utility financing.  His practice included structuring and consummating 1031 exchanges, joint development projects, cellular tower site evaluation and closings and hotel project development.  Mr. Brown is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, CREW Tampa Bay, Gulf Coast Builders Exchange and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Steven Presley

Underwriting Counsel

Steven Presley is an Underwriting Counsel at The Fund’s Broward Branch. He received his B.B.A. in General Business Administration from Stetson University, and his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University.
 
Mr. Presley was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2011 and is a member of the Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. His prior experience includes working as an attorney for a title company and in private practice where he focused his practice on residential real estate transactions, trust litigation and probate matters.
