RON Roundtable
Description
This program presents the perspectives and opinions on Florida’s remote online notarization laws from three experienced online notaries, all of whom were early adopters of the new technology used in online notarization sessions. Each panelist utilizes a different platform, so attendees will benefit from learning about their similarities and differences and of their relative pros and cons.

Mr. Rothman has been actively involved in the rollout of RON in Florida and educating Fund Members and Affiliates on its application. He contributed to the start of The Fund RON Member Locator and prepared the RON Frequently Asked Questions found on The Fund’s website. Mr. Rothman also devotes attention to the importance of cybersecurity best practices for Fund Members and is the preparer of the Be Smart! 22 Cyber Security Tips available on The Fund’s website.
Prior to joining The Fund, Mr. Rothman was partner in the Miami firm of Rothman & Tobin. He handled residential and commercial transactions and served as an outside claims counsel for The Fund, litigating title insurance cases. Michael Rothman received his B.A. degree in education from SUNY-Albany and J.D. degree from Miami School of Law.

Salomé J. Zikakis is a Board Certified Real Estate Attorney and a shareholder with Parady & Zikakis, P.A., in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was born and raised in Delaware, graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in accounting, and earned her Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Florida.
Ms. Zikakis is the chair of the Residential Real Estate and Industry Liaison Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section (RPPTL) of the Florida Bar, a past Chair of the Mortgages and Other Encumbrances Committee of RPPTL, a member of the Executive Council of RPPTL, as well as an active member of several other RPPTL committees. She is a Florida licensed real estate broker and “AV” rated as independently determined by Martindale-Hubbell.
