Hot Topics for the Week Ahead: New TitleNow Webinar, Moratorium Extension, Affiliate Assembly Online

Check out the latest updates from Fund General Counsel Melissa Jay Murphy.

Dear Members,

This week's TitleNow PopUp Webinar focuses on Florida Realtors®.  My guest will be attorney Joel Maxson, who heads up the Realtor® hotline at Florida Realtors.  Joel and I will talk about the most common questions that are called into the hotline, what's a "hot" question right now and how the pandemic has affected (or not) the questions being asked.  Join us this Thursday, Noon, 30 minutes, it's FREE.  Here is a link to register:

Foreclosure/eviction moratorium.  Governor DeSantis has extended the foreclosure and eviction moratoriums until September 1, 2020.  There is some language in the Executive Order beyond simply extension of the date so you might want to read it in its entirety.  Here is a link to Executive Order 20-180. We are in the process of reviewing our underwriting guidelines for those of you handling transactions involving a foreclosure or rental property and hope to have those to you very soon.  FYI, here is a link to our existing underwriting bulletin.  Stay alert for a possible update.

Affiliate Assembly is scheduled for August 20 and 21st AND it is moving to an online format.  You can experience this great event at a special price - and not have to leave your office/home!  This is a first for Affiliate Assembly so take advantage of this unique opportunity to offer folks who have never had the chance to attend because of inconvenience or inability to leave the office.  In addition, just like with Assembly, attendees can view Affiliate Assembly live on the day it is broadcast, or later on demand.  Topics include Probate, FIRPTA, Title Policy Endorsements in Commercial Transactions and (my personal favorite) Remote Online Notarization.  Affiliate Assembly Online has been accredited by The Florida Bar, NALA and the Department of Financial Services.  Registration is open so visit to learn more.

That's all for this week.

Stay safe!
