Ch. 8 – Trust Account Management
Description
This section, taught by a senior auditor, covers proper procedures for maintaining real estate trust accounts and preparing for audit, including FL Bar and Old Republic requirements, working with accounting software, and how to conduct a “three-way reconciliation.
Carol Thompson, Senior Auditor, Old Republic Title
Ms. Thompson has been a Senior Auditor for the past eleven years and prior to that a Member Support Representative (“MSR”) with Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund, Inc (“ATIF”). She has an Associate’s Degree from Miami-Dade Community College in Business Administration and a Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. She taught external and internal customers The Fund’s Green Screen ATIDS program, Web ATIDS, Propel, DoubleTime, Printout to Commitment seminars, Update Seminars and also The Fund’s Paralegal Certification and Placement class. Ms. Adamo taught The Fund’s From Contract to Closing class at Broward Community College and the University of Miami. She has also been employed by a title company and was responsible for mortgage closings, disbursement and escrow reconciliations.
