Ch. 7 – The Roles & Ethical Duties of the Closing Agent
Description
This session addresses the many hats, or roles, the settlement agent may wear in a typical real estate transaction. In addition to serving as issuing agent of the title policies, the title agent may also act as escrow agent, disbursement and recording agent or counsel for a party. Each role brings with it unique concerns, duties and liabilities, which we examine through a review of Florida cases and statutes.
