DOR Forms, DFS Surcharge and Bar Exam Pass Rates

Dear Members,

Hope your 2023 is going well.  We are busy getting ready for Assembly 2023 (registration opens February 1!).  The 2023 legislative session kicks off in early March but committee meetings are underway so we are closely monitoring legislation that might affect you and your practices.  A couple of bits of information for you today so read on.

New DOR forms. There are some new Department of Revenue forms in which you might have some interest. Here's a link to an overview of the changes prepared by The Florida Bar. DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE AMENDS AND CREATES NEW FORMS OF INTEREST TO THE PROFESSION

DFS Administrative Surcharge. If you operate through a title agency, don't forget to pay your administrative surcharge of $200 to the Florida Department of Financial Services on or before Jan. 30, 2023. You should get a "courtesy email" reminder in early January from DFS. To ensure you receive follow-up emails, please log in to the MyProfile account for your title agency and make sure the correct email address is on file. DFS also recommends you do the same for your individual MyProfile account. Demographic changes made to an agency's profile do not populate the profiles of licensees associated with the agency. Payments must be made online as DFS does not accept checks.

Bar Exam Pass Rate. This info was in The Florida Bar News a month or so ago but I am finally getting around to mentioning it here. I found it interesting and perhaps you will, too. These results apply to the July 2022 General Bar Examination and only to those persons sitting for the exam in Florida for the first time.
