National Association of Realtors & Federal Government Shutdown

Trying to close by 12/31? Let me know if and how the shutdown has affected your business.

Dear Members,

I am Hearing from the National Association of Realtors that during the Federal government shutdown, FEMA will not issue (new) or renew (existing) flood insurance policies. The “New” part means that some real estate closings may not occur. I don’t know if many closings have occurred since the shutdown, but many buyers and sellers are trying to close by 12/31.

Please reply to this email to let me know if and how the shutdown has affected your business. Keep the choice descriptive terms to a minimum - you know how tender my ears are!

Happy New Year!
