Exciting New Resources for You; No New Skills for Me

Timely RON support, pop-up webinars and info you can use NOW.

Dear Members,

I hope everyone is doing well.  The Fund is fully operational with many of us working remotely and learning to adapt to the new way of doing business.  I confess that I learned no new skills this past week about which I can brag; perhaps I can focus a bit more on self-improvement this coming week!

Despite my failures in self-improvement, I think I have some helpful information for you in this posting.

RON assistance.  If you have a closing coming up and want to see if RON can be used, we have a new program to help you.  It's called Fund RON Member Locator.  We have put together a list of Fund Members who have registered as Florida online notaries and have handled at least a few closings using RON. They have agreed to be available to help other Fund Members with this process.  So reach out to any of the Members on this list and talk with them about your situation.  They have not agreed to do this without charge so you will need to discuss a fee arrangement with them.  Here is a link to the page on the Vendor Marketplace where you can find their contact information.
https://www.thefund.com/marketplace/vendors/the-fund-ron-member-locator.aspx   We are still available to answer your RON questions so feel free to reach out to me or Michael Rothman here at The Fund:  mmurphy@thefund.commrothman@thefund.com.

"Pop Up Webinars."  We are hosting short webinars (30 minutes max) on timely topics every Thursday at noon.  The first one is THIS Thursday, April 16, 2020.  I will be talking with Steve Gottheim, Deputy General Counsel at the American Land Title Association, on the new FNMA and Freddie Mac guidelines on remote online notarization of loan documents and the use of limited powers of attorney.  Here is a link to register https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/872173711302161166.  There is no charge to attend but there will be no CLE credit given.  Future topics could include force majeure clauses in contracts, updates on RON, news on the national scene, etc.  I am open to your ideas and suggestions!

ATIDS certification dates.  If you use ATIDS, you have likely noticed there is an increased lag time with the dates through which our ATIDS data is certified.  This is a consequence of the upheaval created by the pandemic both on the clerk's side and our side.  The clerks have to send us the data and then we have to post it.  Until we all get caught up, the certification dates will be delayed.  This makes running an update on the clerk's website even more important so, please, if you are using ATIDS to update your title information, use the Clerk's website to get as current as possible.  (If we are providing you with the update, we will do the same thing.)

Fund Assembly Refunds.  What is the saying?  "The check in in the mail!"  It's true.  We mailed out refund checks this past Friday so look for it to arrive in the next several days.  This was a pretty massive undertaking by our finance group……… and they got them out earlier than we projected!  We will be sending information about the pandemic-induced version of Assembly soon.  As with so many things, "it's complicated."  Just figuring out the logistics and the best delivery option has been challenging.  But we will deliver!

Stay safe.  Let me know how we can help you.
