Notary Certificates Again, Vendor Marketplace & New Data Call Worksheet

New notarial certificates that must, I repeat "must," be used on documents and affidavits executed on and after Jan 1, 2020.

Dear Members,

Last week's blog posting alerted you to the new notarial certificates that must, I repeat "must," be used on documents and affidavits executed on and after 1-1-20.  If you missed that blog posting because of catching up after the Thanksgiving holiday, here is a link to that posting.  The points I will emphasize today are these:

  • Incorporate (a fancy word for "cut and paste") the new forms into all of your documents and affidavits ASAP.  Here is a link to a Word document with the new forms https://www.thefund.com/information-center/pdf/digital-closings/ron-notarial-certificates.docx.
  • DoubleTime users will be receiving an email around December 20 linking to a release you must download in order to incorporate the new notarial certificates into DT documents. I realize this does not give you much time to download the release but unfortunately this is the best we can do. PLEASE DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE RELEASE RIGHT AWAY.
  • ECDT users will get a separate email with information about their document changes.

Our Vendor Marketplace has been launched.  We are building this resource gradually.  The goal is to provide links to companies with a product or service you might need.   There aren't many vendors on there…..yet.  We are spreading the word amongst potential participants and working through the process of collecting information from them to evaluate whether to include them on the site. A disclaimer is appropriate here: we review companies and their products with an eye toward whether Fund Members might find their services helpful but we do not guarantee, in any way, shape or form, they will satisfy your needs or do a good job.  We do look for vendors we regularly see at industry events and who generally have a good reputation.  But it is absolutely up to you to review the information and reach out to the vendor to see if they will be a good fit for you and your business.  Your feedback will be extremely helpful so let us know about your experiences.

Last week, a (slightly) revised Data Call worksheet was approved by the Financial Services Commission and Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR).  The new form will be required when you submit your data for 2019 so we are busy working on some tweaks in DoubleTime and ECDT to provide you with the data that will help you complete your submission.  Here is a link to the new form in case you are interested now https://www.thefund.com/TheFund/media/PDFs/Florida-Title-Agency_Changes_11-18-2019.xlsx.

Hope your December is going great!  Let me know how we can help you.
