Message from the Board

The tagline for Florida ARECS is Together We All Succeed. In marketing, a tagline is a short phrase used by a business or brand to summarize its mission and identity. Creating a tagline to represent what real estate attorneys do is a pretty challenging task. How do you summarize all that you do? Advocate? Solve problems? Counsel clients?
 
The Florida ARECS Board of Directors chose to focus on cooperation, which we hope highlights our desire to help REC members work together to achieve our common goals. The Attorneys’ Real Estate Council of Palm Beach County (PBREC) has set a great example of what is possible when we all work together. PBREC has nurtured a successful relationship with its peer in the local real estate community - the Realtors® Association of the Palm Beaches (RAPB). For years PBREC has hosted an annual Law Symposium providing a full day of FREC-accredited education created by the attorney members of PBREC. Then this year something interesting happened…
 
The Realtors® Association of the Palm Beaches merged with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Realtors®, becoming the third largest real estate board in the nation with 30,000 members. RAPB leadership immediately contacted their real estate attorney partners at PBREC and asked if they would present the Law Symposium program to their new members in Broward County. Jeff Zane, President of PBREC and Florida ARECS Director, contacted Pat Nugent, another Florida ARECS Director and former President of the Broward Attorneys’ Real Estate Council to coordinate a presentation in Broward County.
 
The Attorneys’ Real Estate Council of Palm Beach shared all of their program content with Broward, who recruited local real estate attorneys to present the program. On October 12th, just a few weeks after RAPB asked for the program, the Broward REC presented their first Law Symposium to rave reviews.
Both RECs will continue working together when they meet with RAPB later this month to create the education plan for both Broward and Palm Beach County real estate agents.
 
The Florida ARECS Board of Directors would like to thank Jeff Zane and Pat Nugent for working together to organize the event so quickly.
