Earlier this year, Florida ARECS Board Member Erin Prete of Orlando recommended to the Board the creation of a new Council of Presidents. The goal of the new Council is to bring together the Presidents of the local RECs and provide them an opportunity to get to know each other and share their knowledge, experience and ideas. The idea was enthusiastically supported by the Board and even more welcomed by the local REC Presidents!

So, on October 14th, Erin hosted the first Council of Presidents meeting, which was attended by thirteen of the twenty leaders and topics discussed included officer and director terms, by-laws and leadership ladders, dues/event fees, use of committees and working with sponsors.
Annabella Barboza, President of the Broward Attorneys’ Real Estate Council announced that, for a limited time, they are welcoming ALL REC MEMBERS to attend their online meetings. This is a great opportunity for smaller RECs to combine forces with a larger organization to access programming that might not otherwise be available.
The next Council of Presidents meeting will be held November 12th so make sure your REC’s President plans to attend!
