The Real Estate Council of Martin County kicked off August with The Value Adjustment Board Petition Process presented by Don Defenthaler, Director of Appraisal Services for the Martin County Property Appraiser’s Office on August 7th.

On August 9th the Escambia-Santa Rosa Real Estate Council hosted a presentation of Seller & Private Financing After Dodd-Frank by John “Jay” St. Lawrence, a Legal Education Attorney with The Fund.

On August 10th the North Florida Association of Real Estate Attorneys (NFAREA) welcomed Jib Davidson from United Country Real Estate Land & Lifestyle Properties. Mr. Davidson is a Certified Forester, DEP Certified Wetland Delineation Expert and a Master Logger. He discussed the current status of the Florida timber industry, evolution of timber investment vehicles and general wetlands management issues to attorneys from Gainesville and surrounding areas.

Florida ARECS jumped into action in August for the 2017 Florida Realtors® Convention and Trade Show on August 16th and 17th at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando. 

The Florida ARECS Board of Directors hosted a special event for local Education Directors to share information about the local RECs and how they can be a resource to local boards for educational programming. ARECS also secured a booth in the Trade Expo which was staffed by 15 outstanding volunteers who were great ambassadors for the profession.
