The two newest real estate councils, Polk Area Real Estate Council (PAREC) and the Real Estate Attorneys' Council of the Heartland (REACH), each held their first official board meetings in January and have already scheduled their first member events. REACH will introduce itself to area real estate attorneys on March 23rd and PAREC will take their turn on April 6th.

On January 17th, the Attorneys' Real Estate Council of Miami-Dade County and the North Dade & Beaches Real Estate Council held a joint meeting featuring Manuel Farach, McGlinchey Stafford, who presented Real Property Case Law and Its Impact on Your Practice.

The Jacksonville Area Real Estate Council (JAREC) hosted Real Estate & Drones: It's Not Just Sci-Fi Anymore for the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors®. Over 80 attorneys and real estate agents attended the event which featured live drone demonstrations by an Emmy Award-winning drone videographer and a regulatory review from an official with the Federal Aviation Authority.

The Real Property Council of Volusia County held is first member event under its new leadership. On February 1st they hosted Melissa Murphy, Fund Sr. Vice President and General Counsel, who presented Stopping Cyber Fraud to nearly 40 attendees at the Halifax River Yacht Club.

On February 9th the Southwest Florida Real Estate Council voted to expand their board and elect the following new officers and directors:

Finally, on February 28th, the Bay Area Real Estate Council (BAREC) hosted their Annual Economic Outlook Luncheon featuring Kenneth Fears, Director of Housing Finance and Regional Economics, National Association of REALTORS® in Washington, D.C. Nearly 150 BAREC members and guests attended the program which provided an in-depth review of the economic conditions expected for 2017 and the potential impact of the 2016 Presidential Election.
