On March 23rd, West Palm Beach Attorney Manuel Farach presented his very popular Annual Real Estate & Business Case Law Review to members of Capital Region, Emerald Coast, Escambia, Jacksonville and North Florida in what was described as a “Great North Florida Mega-REC Event”! This two-hour, Florida Bar accredited, review of case law is geared toward the real estate and business practitioner. Categories discussed included case law on contracts, title issues, corporate governance and litigation disputes, real estate covenants, fraud as it affects real estate and business disputes, consumer protection laws, bankruptcy, federal claims, foreclosure, and land development issues.
The Polk REC hosted a very interesting program on March 4th – Polk County Evictions: Where Are We? Officials from the Polk County Clerk of Court’s office including Stacy Butterfield, Clerk of Court, Kim Stenger, Courts Division Director, Sharon Doner, Civil Law Manager, Michelle Yodonis, Administrative Services Director, and Sandra Caraway, Official Records Manager presented an interactive discussion of how the Polk Courts were handling various aspects of foreclosure and eviction cases.
The South Miami-Dade and North Dade & Beaches RECs hosted Joshua B. Feinberg, a partner at Malvin Feinberg, P.L. in Fort Lauderdale to discuss his article, Trends, Prevention, and Loss Recovery for Victims of Real Estate Fraud and Other Cybercrimes, which was featured on the cover of the November/December 2020 issue of the Florida Bar Journal.
